Councillor Thompson’s office continues to work closely with City staff and other authorities to protect the safety and cleanliness of all neighbourhoods in Ward 37, including industrial areas. On December 3, the Councillor joined Toronto Police, provincial environment inspectors, City staff and waste disposal contractors to clean up an industrial property at 205 Nantucket Avenue. The business operating at that location failed to comply with a cleanup order to remove tires, stripped vehicles, derelict trailers, rusting propane cylinders and piles of garbage spread over the back of the property. The potentially toxic mess was of great concern to neighbouring businesses, who were concerned about spillover health and safety risks to their facilities and employees.
